I’ve been around weddings all price cialis of my life, having had the pleasure of strolling down the aisle in two amazing bridal dresses myself, but have never had the exciting, narrative like alternatives that are enchanting brides in 2011.
Modern dress designers have taken the classic, often times artless bridal dresses that have graced the runways in years past and really outdone themselves, with shorter styles, bolder colors, layered ruffles, floral appliqués, hand embroidery, and much more. These freshly styled wedding dresses are fun, flirty and very romantic.
A new wedding gown trend that I am able to see being around for some time to come are the detachable jeweled belts that a lot of designers are adorning their gowns with. It actually adds a unique, special touch. I find them to be particularly flattering on curvy brides, accentuating that small waist.
If I had to choose a favorite for this year, it would definitely be the low cut backs and one shoulder style bridal gowns. Now, I might be partial to this look because I like to show off the arms and back that I’ve worked so difficult to chisel, but there is just something so sexy about the slimmer, modern shoulder strap gracing a bride’s shoulder.
When you picture a wedding gown, what color is it? Think Again! Designers have broadened our choices from white to muted colors in soft purple, rose, or even coral. I really favor the classic ivory bridal gown with detailed stitching in dark purple or a soft pink; speak about a story like wedding gown! Finish the look with a matching velvet flower hair accessory or a vintage crystal bridal barrette.
Trumpet wedding skirts have become really big in recent years, hugging your curves down to the middle of your thighs and then flaring out at the bottom in sexy way. This style looks great with a train that is at least three feet, giving it a modern yet classic look.
If you have a pair of stunners, why not let them shine in a city style, short bridal gown? You can have a semi- traditional conventional look in a knee length wedding dress and a more adventurous, fun and flirty look in a mid-thigh wedding dress for a more casual wedding. A beaded empire wedding gown with a ruffled skirt is a really classy look in this length. I also adore the vintage look of a pleated sleeveless tea length bridal dress with a colored belt.
Designers are now obtaining a lot of their inspiration from the roaring 1920’s dropped waist flapper-style dresses and geometric draping in sheer fabrics and elegant beading. Another trending era is the 1950’s with it’s Marilyn Monroe, famous white dress but with a touch of 2011, including added romance and charm.
The modern wedding dresses that I’ve taken notice of this year are romantically charming and extravagant. With the endless range of options you won’t have a hard time finding a unique yet affordable bridal gown to go with your individuality.
